Synopsis:

Objectives: Upon successful completion of this unit, students should have developed knowledge and understanding of historio-graphical issues in the study of the history of childhood together with the development of childhood during the period 1450 to the present with special reference to concepts of childhood over time in social, economic, religious, psychological, political and educational contexts.

Assessment: Essay (1000 words): 20% + Book review (1000 words): 20% + Major assignment (2000 words): 60%

Contact Hours: 2 hours per week plus Introductory weekend school (optional)
