Synopsis:

Objectives: Upon successful completion of this unit, students should be able to demonstrate understanding of the three main marine and coastal habitats on the temperate shores of southern Australia; a relatively detailed knowledge of these habitats; an understanding of the nature and scope of marine and coastal education; an awareness of the place of marine and coastal themes into a range of subjects and learning experiences; familiarity with a range of marine and coastal education teaching materials, approaches and facilities.

Assessment: Habitat assignment (3000 words): 50% + Curriculum assignment (3000 words): 50%

Contact Hours: 2 hrs per week + one full-day excursion
