Synopsis:

Objectives: Upon successful completion of this unit, students should have improved their understandings of harmony; improved their understanding of keyboard notation, and their sight-reading at the keyboard; mastered a repertoire of keyboard pieces of appropriate standard, and committed some of them to memory; developed an effective practice routine and an ability to analyse performance problems and devise appropriate strategies to overcome them; improved their aural skills including recognition of melody and harmony, and pitch matching; developed the ability to improvise simple accompaniments.

Assessment: Individual test of performance: 70% + Folio of musicianship tasks: 30%
