Australian Ecology and Nature Studies (6 points)

Synopsis:

Objectives: Upon successful completion of this unit students should have critically reviewed an essay about Australia's population and environment; explored ecosystems including flora and fauna investigation techniques; developed skills in different ways of representing the environment; developed a collaborative nature book and ecological fieldwork journal; visited Moonlit Sanctuary, Pearcedale Conservation Park and participated in a walk that involves investigation of the local flora and fauna from different cultural, historical and scientific vantage points; developed basic biological and botanical knowledge so they can learn to read the environment.

Assessment: Essay (1500 words): 30% + Ecological Fieldwork Journal (2500 words): 70%.
