Synopsis:

Objectives: On completion of this unit graduates will be expected to: 1. Critically appraise an evidence-based clinical guideline. 2.Have an understanding of the key principles of implementation of evidence into clinical practice. 3.Be competent at identifying the barriers to gathering and applying the evidence. 4.Be able to formulate strategies to overcome barriers to applying the evidence. 5.Be competent in identifying what motivates people to follow evidence and how to manage behavioural change for implementation of clinical best practice.

Assessment: Assignment 1A - pose your clinical question. (10%) Assignment 1B - source and appraise a systematic review. (25%) Assignment 2 - source and appraise a clinical guideline. (25%) Assignment 3 - assess barriers to change within your organisation. (10%) Assignment 4 - create your implementation plan. (30%)

Prerequisites: EBP1002 Introduction to Evidence-Based Practice CPE7603 Contemporary Issues in Health Information
