Clinical health and medical psychology part 2 ( points)

Synopsis:

Objectives: On completion of this unit, students will: 1. have increased their knowledge of specialised areas within health and the medical setting; 2. have developed skills in both individual and group therapy with medical patients; 3. have an understanding of specific techniques such as pain management; 4. have a better understanding of planning and designign projects aimed at health promotion.

Assessment: Log book documenting observation/practical work (hurdle requirement); written report (3000 words) of a psychological intervention for a patient with a medical condition (40%); written report (4000 words) of an evaluation of a group program that has been conducted with medical patients (40%); submission of a plan for a Health Promotion project developed by the group (20%).
