3D modelling for design 2 (3 points)

Synopsis:

Objectives: On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to: 1.demonstrate skills in using an advanced 3D computer modelling package to model a design proposal and create a photorealistic rendering of the design; 2.display competency in surface modeling and modeling strategy; 3.display competency in applying advanced surface texturing techniques; 4.use lighting and environmental backgrounds to create an appropriate scene; 5.use the computer 3D environment as a design tool for the development of form and for communicating product design intent.

Assessment: Assignment-based work: 30%. Studio-based design work: 70%.

Contact Hours: 2 studio hours and 4 independent study hours per week
