Synopsis:

Objectives: 1.To develop an understanding of the rural culture through exploration of the psychology and sociology of rural communities. 2. To review the morbidity and mortality patterns in rural health with emphasis on differences between city and country. 3. To explore the structure and process of health service delivery in rural and remote areas. 4. To examine the advantages and disadvantages of rural practice, including consideration of personal, professional and family issues.

Assessment: Written assignments + Teleconference and discussion group participation
