Synopsis:

Objectives: On completion of this unit the student should be able to: 1. Compare and critique leading principles governing HER design and development. 2. Understand the importance of healthcare data, standards, security and applied healthcare information in relation to the EHR. 3. Take into account the relationship between EHR and healthcare decision making and consumer participation in healthcare decisions. 4. Understand the role of the EHR in telehealth. 5. Understand the impact of the EHR with regard to healthcare documentation, communication and delivery.
