Synopsis:

Objectives: At the completion of this unit, students should have 1. A detailed knowledge and understanding of all major protocols in TCP/IP; 2. An understanding of major issues in implementing the protocols; 3. An awareness of the latest developments in TCP/IP (eg. IPv6, IPSec, mulitcasting, VoIP, QoS, iSCSI); 4. The knowledge and skills to implement and manage wired and wireless LANs; 5. The knowledge and skills to implement and manage TCP/IP services within wired and wireless LANs.

Assessment: Assignments: 40%, Exam: 60%.

Prerequisites: CPE1007 or CPE2002, plus a further 12 points of Network Computing units.

Prohibitions: CSE3821.
