Honours Dissertation (24 points)

Synopsis:

Objectives: On successful completion of this unit students should be able to: 1) examine a large body of relevant literature and distil from that, those issues most pertinent to their chosen area of research within the Cognitive Sciences 2) independently design and conduct a research project, and analyse and interpret the data obtained 3) integrate the outcome of their own research into a larger body of knowledge in that field 4) provide, in the form of a dissertation, a report that effectively communicates the details of their research, in all respects, at a publishable standard.

Assessment: Dissertation 15,000 words

Contact Hours: 1 hour supervisory meeting per week

Prerequisites: Undergraduate degree with Cognitive Science, Psychology or related major
