Managing Criminal Justice Issues (12 points)

Synopsis:

Objectives: Upon completion of Managing Criminal Justice Issues students will be able to: 1. Demonstrate a critical understanding of key management issues in the criminal justice context including inter and intra agency team building; effective communications strategies across the sector and the oversight of criminal justice project change. 2. Demonstrate a critical understanding of inter agency criminal justice management including working with the media; working with community organisations and pressure groups and working with diverse populations. 3. Demonstrate a critical understanding of alternative dispute resolution including negotiation and mediation; working with bodies of inquiry and organisational problem solving. 4. Demonstrate critical understanding of new directions and frameworks in criminal justice management including ethical considerations; accountability; and best practice and benchmarking.

Assessment: Development of a benchmarking manual (3000 words): 35%
