Clinical and therapeutic dietetics 2 (6 points)

Synopsis:

Objectives: At the completion of the course the students will have: 1. An understanding of the dietetics principles that are relevant in the medical management of - Cystic fibrosis - Allergy - Infectious disease - Burns - Specialist Paediatrics 2. A skill base which will include: - skill in nutrition assessment, treatment planning and patient monitoring in the acute conditions specified so that the students is compotent on graduation to work in the area of nutrition and dietetics with safety and confidence. - the ability to work effectively within the organisation by approprately managing available time, resource and personnel in completing tasks.

Assessment: 3 hour examination (40%), clinical assignment (20%), Objective Structured Clinical Examination (40%)

Prerequisites: Completion of years 1, 2, 3, and semester one year 4 Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics

Corequisites: BND4042 Program Planning

Prohibitions: Only available to BND students
