Therapeutic Models: Theory and Practice (12 points)

Synopsis:

Objectives: Upon successful completion of this unit students will be able to demonstrate: 1. an elementary theoretical and practical understanding of a range of therapeutic models. 2. a thorough understanding of the theoretical, practical and research issues surrounding at least one therapeutic model. 3. a practical introduction to the professions of psychotherapy and counselling.

Assessment: Research essay (4500 words): 50% + Professional reflection (2000 words): 20% + Case study (2500): 30%

Contact Hours: 1 three-hour seminar per week.

Prerequisites: Students must have satisfied the requirements of a three year bachelor degree.
