Synopsis:

Objectives: Upon successful completion of this unit students will have demonstrated that they are able to: 1. Design and develop a significant research project. 2. Collect, systematically and comprehensively, data relating to the research topic. 3. Undertake independent research with some guidance from a supervisor. 4. Present a cogent and convincing argument in relation to an in-depth analysis of the topic. 5. Assess various current interpretations of primary data in light of current knowledge. 6. Present a major piece of work in an acceptable scholarly form.

Assessment: Written 15,000 - 18,000 words: 100% + Should the piece of research include a practical component, the weighting of each part will be determined in discussion with the supervisor.
