Bachelor of Environmental Technology

The Bachelor of Environmental Technology course normally requires three years full-time study or the equivalent in part-time on-campus or off-campus study (usually about six years).

The BEnvTech enables students to develop an awareness of the importance of sustainable and integrated management of the Earth's natural resources. Students will gain a knowledge of strategies for identifying and reducing any negative impacts and develop skills in analysis, design, synthesis, project coordination, evaluation and communication. It will equip graduates with the skills to identify and implement technology solutions for utilising the Earth's resources, drawing on engineering, science and management. The maximum time for completion of the course is 10 years, including intermissions.

The 24 points of elective units at stages two and three may be chosen from offerings in science or other faculties such as Arts, Business and Economics, or Information Technology. The following electives are suggested as particularly relevant to the course: BIO1722, BTH2766, BTH2797, CHM2741, CHM2762, CHM3742, ENV2726, ENV2747, ENV2757, ENV3726, ENV3639, ENV3656, MTH2085, PHS1731, SCI1020 and STA1010.
