Course code: 3432 + Department of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences, Clayton campus + Full-fee-paying course: $4200 (Australian residents); $7250 (international students)
The course is intended for radiographers or other suitably qualified health professionals seeking to gain an understanding of the principles of ultrasound and study in a particular field of ultrasound.
Applicants will generally be graduates of a degree program in radiography and medical imaging or equivalent, who have a minimum of 12 months postgraduation experience and have attained their Statement of Accreditation of the Australian Institute of Radiography. The Department of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences will individually assess applicants holding other qualifications.
The course consists of four units that are completed over a minimum of one year of part-time study (two 18-week semesters).

Advanced standing may be granted for the core units where the student supplies documentary evidence of successfully completing a similar unit at a similar level elsewhere, within the last seven years. Any candidate may, with the approval of the course coordinator and the faculty, be granted credit for up to 50 per cent of their course. All advanced standing applications are assessed on a case-by-case basis.
