Applicants for admission must normally have qualified for a bachelors degree at Monash University or at another tertiary institution approved by the faculty board.
*The course structure is currently under review. For more information, contact the School of Information Management and Systems on (03) 9903 1059.
To qualify with the graduate diploma, students complete 48 points of graduate units. The units are to be selected from the graduate units of the School of Information Management and Systems, however up to 12 points may be taken from outside the School of Information Management and Systems, subject to approval by the director of graduate studies.
Certain units require background knowledge specific to particular specialisations, and admission to these units will need the approval of the unit coordinator. * Offered on-campus and by off-campus learning. Other units are only offered on-campus.
The course duration is two semesters full-time or four semesters part-time.
Credit transfer will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. All course transfers and credit provision will be considered by the course director.
Students who successfully complete the graduate diploma may, depending on their unit choice, be eligible for professional recognition by the Australian Library and Information Association, the Australian Society of Archivists, or the Records Management Association of Australia.
