Master of Risk Management

General course information

The objectives of the course are to:

Entry requirements

Applicants must have a pass degree or equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution; or an executive certificate offered by the faculty with an average grade of credit or above, and a minimum of two years of relevant employment experience.

Special requirements

Students should have access to a Pentium 2 computer (or at a minimum, a Pentium 166 with Windows 95 or later) as a portion of the learning is via interactive tutorial disks. Students undertaking ETX9520 may need to have access to an IBM-compatible computer and the spreadsheet package Excel (version 97 or above).

Attendance

Students have the option of attending three weekend sessions per unit per semester which are currently available in Melbourne and Sydney.

Course structure

The masters degree is offered on a part-time basis only and is of three years' duration by off-campus learning. Students are expected to undertake two units per semester and pass the equivalent of 12 units to be eligible for the award of Master of Risk Management.

Professional recognition

Completion of the Master of Risk Management will satisfy (in the area of risk management) the educational requirements for the Australian Institute of Risk Management and allow admission at the level of member.
