The aim of the 12-unit Master of Diplomacy and Trade course is to meet the training and professional development needs of those who are engaged in the formulation of foreign trade and administrative policy advice, as well as the implementation and delivery of programs in these areas. The course provides the opportunity to undertake formal academic study at postgraduate level across a range of disciplines directly relevant to the needs of organisations operating in a global or regional environment. A further important objective is to ensure a solid understanding of key issues on the international political and economic agenda, and an appreciation of their implications for the making of foreign, commercial and trade policy in the government and non-government sectors.
Master of Diplomacy and Trade students must complete the
following units:
(a) Six core units:
(b) A choice of two of these electives:

(c) Four electives may be selected from (b) or other graduate units taught
by the Department of Management, providing the selection meets overall course
objectives and receives course director approval
or
In place of two elective(s), student may study units outside the
Department of Management providing the selection meets overall course
objectives and receives course director approval
or
In place of four electives students may enrol in MGX5901
Research report (introduction) (12 points) and MGX5900 Research report (12
points): a 20,000-word research report.
Students should complete four 9000-level graduate units before commencing
5000-level units.
