Business and Economics
Graduate Diploma of Business (Management)
Course code: 1741 + Gippsland campus + Normally two
years part-time + Course director: Dr Richard Winter + Total credit points
required: 48 + Attendance not required
The Graduate Diploma of Business (Management) is designed
primarily for graduates who are seeking to study a business relevant course
focusing on contemporary management theory, process and practices and practice.
The course is appropriate for existing or prospective managers who can
demonstrate the appropriate level of academic competence.
The Graduate Diploma of Business (Management) is a two-year
off-campus learning program. It consists of four core units and four elective
units as follows:
(a) Four core units:
- MGG9370 Management theory and practice (first semester)
- MGG9324 Human resource management (second semester)
- MGG9352 Management processes and systems (first semester)
- MGG9371 Strategic management (second semester)
(b) Four elective units (subject to meeting prerequisite
requirements):
- MGG5810 Cultural values and management practices
- MGG5820 Management development for global business
- MGX5461 Contemporary issues in globalisation
- MGX5560 Case studies in services management
- MGG9303 Organisational behaviour
- AFG9070 Financial management
- MKG9444 Marketing in a foreign environment
- BTG9270 Business law
- ECG9103 Ethics, economy and society
- MGG9320 Organisational change and development
- Any 5000-level or 9000-level units taught in the Faculty of
Business and Economics or other faculties of the university, subject to the
approval of the course director.
Completion of the Graduate Diploma of Business (Management)
will allow direct entry into the Master of Business Management.
