VCO2408Design discourse (6 points)(A&D) Leader: To be advised
Offered: Synopsis: Students are encouraged to question and explore the role of design in communicating and shaping experience. Projects are speculative in nature. Through research and practical application, students explore a range of design related topics including language and typography and the function of signs in contemporary media. The projects are designed to introduce students to issues and ideas relevant to design discourse. Students demonstrate a critical awareness of design and develop research methodology through class critique seminars. Assessment: 3 minor projects: 90%. Journal: 10% Contact Hours: 6 points + 12 hours per week, including; 4 studio hours including: 1 hour lecture and 3 independent study hours + First and Second semester, Caulfield + Prerequisites: OHS1000 + Elective unit + Prohibition: VCO2407 Prerequisites: OHS1000 Prohibitions: VCO2407 |
