Computer graphics 1 (4 points)

Synopsis: Concepts of computer graphics applications. Overview of the hardware and software components of computer graphics systems. 2D object representations. 2D object transformations (translation, rotation and scaling). Composite transformations using homogeneous coordinates. Introduction to 3D graphical concepts (projections, depth cueing, hidden line removal, surface rendering, 3D viewing). 3D object representations, 3D object transformations (translation, rotation and scaling). AutoCAD 2D and 3D object drawing principles (object shapes, layers, blocks, viewing ports, rendering, hidden line removal etc).

Assessment: Examination (2 hours): 40% + Practical work/laboratory work: 60%

Contact Hours: 26 lecture hours and 26 laboratory hours
