Technological design principles (electronics) (4 points)

Synopsis: Nature of electricity, voltage, current, frequency. Signals: their measurement and display. Passive components: resistance, inductance and capacitance and typical circuits. Semiconductors and electronic components: diodes, transistors and integrated circuits. Circuits and characteristics of typical analogue electronic circuits. Circuits and characteristics of typical digital electronic circuits. Computer software in electronic circuit analysis. Computer simulation of electrical and electronic circuits using PSPICE.

Assessment: Examination (3 hours): 70% + Practical work, laboratory work, tests: 30%

Contact Hours: 26 lecture hours and 13 tutorial/laboratory hours
