Contemporary discourse in interior architecture and design (6 points)

Synopsis: Talks, presentations of spaces and objects, and debates concerning the merits of the designs. The criteria by which the objects are judged allow the student to consider critically the moral dichotomies of judgement in design, such as practicality/impracticality, social use/private folly, labour-saving/unnecessary consumption, luxury/environmental nuisance.

Assessment: Two essays or class presentations:40%+60%

Contact Hours: One 1 hour lecture
