TAD2303Asian art and design and its influences in Europe A (6 points)(A&D) Leader: No current information available
Offered: Synopsis: This unit is design to encourage an empathy with two-thirds of the word's population, through an informed appreciation of Asian Art/Design, Religion, and Sociology/Anthropology. The course will also develop students' awareness of theories and the attainment of knowledge about the study of cross-cultural aesthetics; much of which is also applicable to the study of non-Asian aesthetics. This survey course will not only introduce students to the study of pre-Twentieth century Asian Art and Deign, but also its many impacts on European visual culture. Assessment: Short essay (1500 words): 40% + Long essay (2500 words): including class presentation 55% + Reader discusion 5% Contact Hours: 3 hours in class and 9 hours of independent study Prerequisites: TAD1101,TAD1102 Prohibitions: TAD2313 |
