Application of Computer Techniques (12 points)

Synopsis: This is a hands-on unit taught in a computer laboratory. The modules may change from year to year, depending on staff available, but the aim is to provide students with practical experience of analysing both quantitative data (eg SPSS, the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) and qualitative data (eg NUD*IST, Non-numerical Unstructured Data Indexing Searching and Theorising).

Assessment: Completion of a series of practical exercises: 100%

Contact Hours: 3 hours (2 x seminar and 1 x laboratory) per week
