Spanish Studies 7 (6 points)

Synopsis: This unit focuses on the process of analysing and writing texts using distinct genres and styles. Literary and journalist texts, academic essays, fictional and creative writings are used as a platform for the acquisition of writing skills in Spanish. Students will be required to write individual pieces of texts as well as work in groups for the creation of an online magazine. This unit is fully taught and assessed in Spanish.

Assessment: Group magazine (1500 words per student): 35% + Listening comprehension test (equivalent to 500 words each): 15% + 2 tests (equivalent 750 words each): 30% + Oral presentation (equivalent to 500 words): 10% + Bibliography (equivalent to 500 words): 10%

Contact Hours: 3 hours (1 x lecture and 2 x tutorials) per week plus 1 hour of Spanish on-line
