SCY3660Data Appreciation (6 points)(ARTS) Leader: TBA
Offered: Synopsis: Consolidation and extension of work begun in SCY2150. Topics include univariate and bivariate descriptive statistics, sampling theory, and tests of statistical significance. Multivariate statistics will only be briefly touched upon. The level of mathematics required is not very high, but students will need to be able to work comfortably with simple formulas, graphs and tables, and to operate a calculator. Assessment: Two practical assignments (2500 words total): 50% + Class test (2 hours): 50% Contact Hours: 2 hours per week Prerequisites: SCY2150 Sociological research techniques for public policy |
