SCY2400Social Psychology (6 points)(ARTS) Leader: Associate Professor Naomi White
Offered: Synopsis: This unit examines the social construction of social relationships and of emotions as constituent elements of face-to-face interactions. Students will examine conceptual and theoretical frameworks relevant to the social psychology of interpersonal relationships, the social construction of emotion and the interplay of self-definitions, emotions and situational factors in face-to-face relationships. How we attribute meaning to events, situations and our own and others' actions will also be considered. Assessment: Project (2500 words): 50% + Test (2 hours): 50% Contact Hours: 2 hours (1 lecture and 1 tutorial) per week Prerequisites: First-year sequence in Sociology or permission Prohibitions: SCY3400 |
