Teams, Groups & Community Networks (6 points)

Synopsis: This unit will equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to work effectively within, and with teams and groups in organisations and communities. The unit introduces theories and models relevant to group and community work, and emphasises the importance of utilising teams, groups, and community networks as a Social and Community practitioner within a Human Service organisation. The unit also introduces students to how these skills and knowledge apply to the management of teams and programs.

Assessment: Assignment (750 words): 20% + Workbook (1500 words): 30% + Exam (2 hrs): 40% + Participation: 10% + On-campus students will be assessed on class participation, off-campus students will be assessed on the basis of participation in the on-line discussion group.

Contact Hours: 3 hours per week (2-hour lecture, 1-hour tutorial)
