Modern Christian Spiritualities (6 points)

Synopsis: An exploration of the varieties of Christian spirituality and mysticism from the early modern period to post-modernity. It examines the engagement of various spiritual movements with modernity, in all its manifestations, to the late twentieth century. Students will be required to experience and critically assess some contemporary examples of these traditions and movements.

Assessment: Introductory assignment (500 words): 10% + Two essays (1200 words each): 50% + Report of a liturgical experience (600 words): 10% + Written examination (1.5 hours): 30%

Contact Hours: 3 hours (2 lectures and 1 tutorial) per week
