Synopsis: Patient assessment, patient management and ethical practice. Patients with special needs - geriatrics and paediatrics and accident and emergency. Patients with acute abdominal distress. Patients with a communicable disease and the intubated patient. Patient care for contrast examinations of the gastrointestinal, urinary, hepatobiliary and cardiovascular systems. Catheterisation and its application in contrast examinations of the gastrointestinal, urinary, hepatobilirary and cardiovascular systems. The concept of surgical asepsis. Infection control in contrast imaging examinations. Venepuncture.

Assessment: One written examination (2 hours): 55% + One objective structured professional skills examination (30 min): 20% + One investigative assignment: 25%
