PSY3122Introduction to counselling (6 points)(MED) Leader: Dr Tom Whelan
Offered: Synopsis: Central theme: introduction to counselling theory, interventions and research. Themes to be covered include theories of counselling, evaluation of counselling research designs and interventions, ethical decision making in counselling psychology. Assessment: Examination (2 hours): 50% + Laboratory report (2000 words): 25% + Essay (2000 words): 5%. Contact Hours: One 1-hour lecture and one 2-hour workshop per week Prerequisites: PSY2011 or PSY2031 Prohibitions: APY3070. |
