Introductory business law & accounting for non business students (6 points)

Synopsis: This subject will introduce students to the legal framework that regulates business practice, with special emphasis on the areas of law relevant to psychologists working in either Marketing or Management related occupations. It will also introduce the legal requirements companies must follow when reporting financial information. Finally, it will develop students' abilities to interpret and critically analyse financial information presented both internally within an organisation, and externally to stakeholders.

Assessment: Examination (3.5 hours): 60% + Tutorial Exercises: 10% + Two written assignments: 30%

Contact Hours: Two 1-hour lectures and one 1-hour practical lab per week

Prohibitions: AFF1110. Bachelor of Business (specialised) degree students are not permitted to take this unit.
