PHL3690Metaphysics (6 points)(ARTS) Leader: John Bigelow
Offered: Synopsis: The unit will deal with philosophical problems concerning modality and some issues in the metaphysics of individuals, properties, relations, change, events and fate. A large part of the subject will be recent articles which will be made available, and there will be ample opportunity for seminar discussions. www.arts.monash.edu.au/phil/undergraduate/lateryear.html Assessment: Essay (3000 word): 50% + Assignment (1500 words): 50% + Either of these components may optionally be replaced by a 3 hour examination Contact Hours: 2 hour seminar per week Prerequisites: A first-year sequence in Philosophy and two 6-point second-year Philosophy units including at least one of PHL2110, PHL2130 or PHL2170 |
