Clinical conversion (Degree conversion) (6 points)

Synopsis: This subject requires the student to work as a member of an ambulance paramedic crew, responding to both emergencies and non-emergencies whilst under the indirect supervision of a Monash appointed clinical teacher, ambulance medical officer and MUCAPS staff. The skills developed in clinical practice (degree conversion) will be applied to the work environment and require the demonstration of the clinical competence expected of an ambulance paramedic at the graduate level.

Assessment: Structured learning activities: 20% + Formative assessment: 50% + Case studies: 30% + OSCE: Pass/Fail

Contact Hours: 156 hours of structured student work including a minimum of 13 hours direct contact with supervisor

Prerequisites: employment by an Ambulance Service
