Synopsis: Crystal plasticity. Mechanics of deformation. Heat and work. Lubrication. Metal forming processes - including formability limits, stress and strain in metal forming, tool and process design for rolling, forging, extrusion, drawing and sheet metal forming. Powder metallurgy. Thermomechanical processing for material properties.

Assessment: Examination: 40% + Case study reports and assignments: 60%
