Introduction to clinical research methods (6 points)

Synopsis: Differences between descriptive a& analytical epidemiology, strengths & weaknesses of different epidemiological study designs, & basic features of an intervention study. Parallel introduction to basic contepts & methods of biostatistics including confidence intervals, p-values & sample size, statistical comparison tests, regression models & survival analysis. Ethical issues in clinical research, questionnaire design principles & data management.

Assessment: Written assignments
