Synopsis: Issues involved in assessing the risk of HIV transmission in a community. Developing & managing a multisectoral response to HIV/AIDS, including prevention of infection and health care needs of persons with AIDS. The global HIV/AIDS situation. Key determinants of infection. The relative success of various approaches to the AIDS epidemic in affected countries. Elements of a community HIV/AIDS situation. Components of a community-based HIV/AIDS prevention & care program.

Assessment: Written assignments + Short answer examination
