Synopsis: The subject will examine current state-of-the-art in multimedia technology, applications and system development practice. It will discuss industry trends in these areas and explore likely future directions. The subject will aim to increase students' awareness of the issues currently of concern to multimedia systems developers, and to stimulate discussion of how system development practices could be improved.

Assessment: Research paper: 50% + Practical assignment and practical work: 50%
