Synopsis: This subject introduces students to the methods and processes involved in multimedia authoring. The basic methods of multimedia authoring are introduced, including variables, branching, iteration, conditional statements, binary logic and debugging. High level GUI authoring systems are supplemented by text-based scripting environments. Awareness of terminology and concepts particular to multimedia authoring in project documentation.

Assessment: Exercises: 40%. Major project: 60%

Contact Hours: 6 points + 12 hours per week including; 1 hour lecture, 2 hour tutorial and 9 independent study hours per week + Second semester, Caulfield + Prerequisites: DIS2906 + OHS1000 + Core subject within Bachelor of Multimedia Design + Prohibitions: MMD2711 or MMD3712.
