Synopsis: An overview of retailing from a management perspective. The development of retailing; the Australian retail industry and its environment; merchandising planning, control and distribution; pricing merchandise; selling and sales promotion; store location, layout and presentation.

Assessment: On-campus (Tutorial, 10%; minor assignments of 2500 words, 25%; major assignments of 3000 words, 30%; examination of 2 hours, 35%) 100% + Distance (assignments of 6500 words, 65%; examination of 2 hours, 35%): 100%
