MID1101Beginning the journey (6 points)(MED) Leader: Lisa McKenna
Offered: Synopsis: This practice subject introduces students to the fundamentals of midwifery care within the family/community where childbearing women live and work. It introduces students to a number of fundamental concepts, processes and skills required for midwifery practice. The subject is designed for beginning students in a comprehensive undergraduate midwifery program. It aims to develop knowledge and skills for the promotion of individual health, growth and development within a women centred focus of learning. Assessment: Written examination: 50% + Clinical fieldwork: 50% + Practical skills examination: pass/fail (students must pass this examination to pass the unit) |
