Strategy in complex environments (6 points)

Synopsis: This unit develops concepts of uncertainty inherent in Chaos theory in relation to Strategy using Resource Based Theories of the firm, theories of adaptation and change from Complex Adaptive Systems theory, System Dynamics for model building and hypothesis testing and scenario planning as a methodology for business implementation

Assessment: Individual Written Assignment (2000 words): 20% + Individual Simulation model and discussion (1000 words plus two scenario models): 20% + Group Scenario presentation (3000 word report plus presentation and models): 60%

Contact Hours: One 3 hour class per week (8 weeks) laboratory sessions in place of 3 hour class (5 weeks)
