Advocacy and negotiation (6 points)

Synopsis: Topics include the preparation and presentation of cases and submissions before industrial relations and other administrative tribunals; negotiation and administration of the collective agreement. Issues dealt with include grievance and disciplinary procedures; unfair dismissals; strategy and tactics in industrial negotiations; management and union rights; drafting the collective agreement.

Assessment: Tutorial paper: 30% + Class test: 20% + Negotiation practice case study: 50%

Prerequisites: MGX9180, MGX9220 and must have passed four 9000-level units
