MGC3650Management research methods (pre-honours) (6 points)(BUS) Leader: Dr Ross Donohue
Offered: Synopsis: This unit aims to develop the skills and judgements necessary to operationalise research problems and to design research projects in the management discipline. Students are introduced to the theory of social science research, and to the components of the research process. Additional topics include different types of research design; the conceptualisation and operationalisation of variables; qualitative and quantitative data collection and research techniques; and ethical issues associated with management research. Assessment: Written (two 1000-word exercises and one assignment 1500 words): 50% + Examination (2 hours): 50% Contact Hours: 3 hours per week Prerequisites: Three second-year management units Corequisites: Two third-year management units |
