Assessment, evaluation & research in health professional education (6 points)

Synopsis: This unit will explore the critical role of assessment and evaluation in determining the behaviours of students and teachers in the successful outcome of a health science education program. The theoretical bases underpinning current effective practices in assessment and evaluation will be explored. Students will be required to maintain a journal of learning activities, reflect on their current practices in assessment and evaluation and develop and critique of assessment and evaluation protocols relevant to their own teaching activities.

Assessment: Learning Journal (Pass/Fail), Reflective Critique (30%), Development of Assessment and Evaluation Protocols (70%)
