Synopsis: Overview of the law relating to damages Role of the expert in the assessment of damages. Subject topics: The nature of damages Causation and remoteness Mitigation of loss Categories of damages - including Tort, Contract, Product liability, Trade Practices, equitable damages, criminal damages Measure of damages

Assessment: 7 This Subject will be assessed as Pass or Fail only and no grades will be allocated. 7 There will be ongoing assessment including reflective activities, case studies, assignments and a final assessment task. Participation in the online discussion group will also be required.

Prerequisites: LAW7281 and LAW7282. Corequisite: LAW7284
