Synopsis: An approved semester-length, or year-length program of study at a Japanese institution. Students will take one or more units in Japanese studies at the Japanese institution which are equivalent in standard to work done in the School of Japanese studies as approved by the head of School. The workload for this unit will be approximately equal to that required for a 12-point unit at Monash University, and will normally be completed over one or two semesters when combined with other study.

Assessment: Students will be required to bring back all written work competed in Japan for assessment by Monash staff, drawing both on results provided by the host institution and on direct assessment of work completed.

Prerequisites: Permission
